Retail POS Refresh

8th February 2018 | In Point of Sale
A leading international fashion retailer embarked on a Point of Sale (POS) refresh across Europe and EMEA with extremely tight timescales. Our CPE Solution provides the opportunity to develop necessary operational readiness and roll out the virtual services to the end customer in phases. As more complex and demanding operating conditions prevail, the requirement for Service Providers to mass deploy Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) has never been greater.

Business Challenge

The main driver for the project’s aggressive timeframe is that all equipment needed to be replaced by the company’s financial year end to comply with processing restrictions. These restrictions mean that the new POS system must be operational in order to complete the End of Financial Year tills processing as it cannot span two systems.   Initially, the fashion retailer adopted an in-house approach to the rollout with their own support staff travelling all over Europe to install the solution and train local staff in its operation. But they quickly found that this was a costly approach in terms of both expense and their technical team’s time. With a small team, responsible for the support and development of the estate they looked for an external partner to assist with the project.
