You will have wide-ranging networking experience with demonstrable exposure in networking design, technical pre and post sales consultancy, delivery of technical presentations to customers to support the sales process whilst taking a proactive approach to the support, coaching and mentoring of junior team members.

The Role

  • Act as a source of Technical Expertise to local and remote staff
  • Be able to discuss and design solutions for a wide range of technical projects within the Small/Medium business, Enterprise and Service Provider sector
  • Contribute to complex and diverse bids and projects within the networking arena for a broad range of multi-vendor solutions
  • Discuss complex designs with all levels of customers including C level
  • Support the sales force and customer base
  • Translate customer requirements into designs based on vendor best practises
  • Lead deployment of large and small networking solutions
  • Manage third party installation teams on large scale projects
  • Maintain and achieve the highest levels of vendor certifications
  • Provide Professional Services to our customers
  • Provide documentation for customers including Tender responses, bill of materials and Statement of Works
  • Responsible for the definition of PS engagements to include the scope, duration and creation of the SOW
  • Creation of project documentation including test plans and handover documents
  • Provision of onsite services for our customers
  • Provide Level2 escalation for 3rd party service providers for support cases
  • Provide out of hours L2 support for Juniper cases via an on-call rota
  • Work with the Head of Technical and other Senior Technical staff to identify new technologies that can be adopted by the Hardware Group
  • Define, create and deliver training for the sales teams within the Hardware Group as required
  • Define, Create and present Proof of Concept (POC) workshops for our customers
  • Manage projects that involve Professional Services provided by the Hardware Group or 3rd party providers
  • Provide onsite product overviews or workshops with our customers based on their chosen technologies
  • Travel to customer sites to provide installation of Hardware and Software as required

Skills Required

  • Juniper JNCIE level certified Architect is essential
  • Extensive experience in either a pre-sales engineering role or a customer facing technical role
  • Experience of working with both Cisco and Juniper service provider technologies
  • Demonstrable broad, practical knowledge of ICT technologies and full project cycle implementation
  • An excellent knowledge of the Juniper product range to include Pre and Post-sales support
  • Extensive experience with network protocols such as MPLS, RSVP, LDP, BGP, IGP, QoS, Multicast, traffic engineering
  • Extensive experience with Enterprise and Campus networks technologies such as VC, VCF, MC-LAG and EVPN-VXLAN
  • Experience with SDN/NFV solutions
  • Experience with cloud architectures such as public (AWS and Azure), private and hybrid cloud
  • Experience with platforms such as MX, QFX, EX and SRX
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Puppet and Chef
