Reporting into the Head of Buying you will be a reliable and precise professional proactively contacting supplier’s, expediting orders and ensuring due dates are maintained whilst building strong supplier relationships and supporting our sales team.

A typical day:

  • Liaising with supplier contacts and supporting our day-to-day activities (typically inside sales team) to resolve order fulfilment issues. These would include: shipping delays; mis-ships; pricing discrepancies and expediting of all orders
  • Purchase order preparation and placement
  • Requesting supplier quotations for sales team
  • Take ownership of supplier issues and look for process and efficiency improvements
  • Maintain and update accurate due dates for delivery of products
  • Purchasing consumables used in the refurbishment process (liaising with Technical Operations and Head Buyer) including cables/rackmounts /blanking panels
  • Collaborating with internal departments to ensure that the customer’s purchase order requirement is understood
  • Establish and maintain strong and trusting relationships with suppliers

What you need:

  • Ambitious, looking to progress career further

  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated
  • Service orientated
  • Ability to deal with unplanned situations effectively
  • Methodical and accurate – naturally enjoying attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness
  • A good understanding of MS Office
  • Purchasing Administration experience preferable
