SmartOptics Passive Multiplexers Optical Transceivers

SmartOptics
SmartOptics

SmartOptics's CWDM / DWDM Mux/Demux's allow users to increase the capacity of their existing fiber with up to 16 CWDM or 40 DWDM wavelengths. All modules are designed to fully comply with ITU G.694.1, ITU G.694.2 and ITU G.695 requirements.

T-Series Products

The T-Series Mux/Demux family gives great flexibilty and performance to its users and has additional features such as low loss DWDM upgrade channels as well as easy fiber management.

C-Series Products

The C-series is an equivalent passive Mux/Demux and OADM portfolio to Cisco Systems second generation of passive CWDM devices. The modules multiplex and demultiplex optical CWDM wavelengths therefore increasing fiber capacity by a factor of 8. The C-series offers identical functional design but with improved performance and interoperability. Cisco's network design rules can be applied. They are fully compliant to ITU G.694.2 and ITU G.695. The modules are based on a standard LGX building practice and offer an easy installation and connection process. Two modules can be mounted into a 19" or 23" bracket. Wavelength colour coding is to industry practice and is in-line with CWDM devices from Cisco Systems.

The C-series consists of an 8 channel Mux/Demux module, two 4 channel Optical Add/Drop Multiplexers (OADMs) and eight single-wavelength dual channel OADMs. Each module offers low insertion loss, optical monitoring ports tapping 2% of the optical light signals allowing live monitoring and troubleshooting of the CWDM signals, as well as the mixing of 1310 nm CWDM signals on the same fiber infrastructures.

Applications:
  • All optical communication systems such as Gigabit Ethernet, SDH/Sonet, ATM, Escon, Fibre Channel/Ficon, Tttx and CATV.

Features:
  • Multiplexing of up to 8 CWDM wavelengths.
  • Low insertion loss.
  • Compliant to ITU G.694.2 and G.695.
  • 2% Monitoring ports on every network port.
  • 1 and 4 channel OADM's.
  • LC/UPC connectors.
  • 1300 nm transparency on OADMs for legacy traffic.
  • 1U Low profile modular design.
  • Passive, no electric power is required.
  • Extremely reliable (MTBF ca. 500 years).
