NetApp™ developed the OnTap operating system back in 1998 and since those early days have become one of the market leaders in the storage landscape. NetApp™ believes in simplicity and performance with a range of products that ‘just work’. A single familiar GUI interface is used throughout the entire product range and there is the ability to manage third party storage under the NetApp™ platform.
You can provision storage to your servers via iSCSI or Fibrechannel at LUN level or provide high performance network attached storage using CIFS or NFS.
Dynamic provisioning and de-duplication technologies mean that with NetApp™ you often need far less storage than comparable vendors, which saves both your CapEx and OpEx budgets.
NetApp™ offers superior levels of performance as data is striped over all available spindles which offers RAID1 performance with RAID 6 protection.
