EqualLogic arrays flash-boosted by Dell

Responding to the necessity of increasing the speed for VDI, data warehousing and OLTP data access Dell is adding flash to EqualLogic arrays.

Dell has tailored four ranges of arrays to provide iSCSI data access according to the size as:

·          PS4100 entry-level

·          PS6100 mid-range

·          PS6500 virtualised and scale-out storage

·          FS7500 unified file and block storage

In addition Dell has acquainted us with their November release, the EqualLogic Host Integration Tools for VMware 3.5. The virtual deployment utility is going provide centralised VDI management through automated, rapid deployment and provisioning of virtual desktops also from the VMware vCenter Server interface.

Hardware.com will be able to offer the new features as part of our portfolio in the fourth quarter this year.
